What is advocacy?

‘Advocacy’ is all about people having more control over their own lives. We help people to make their own decisions, speak up about what they want and need, and achieve their own goals. Our work includes supporting people to feel more in control of the health and social care processes they are involved in.

Types of Advocacy

What is an advocate?

An advocate is someone who supports and empowers people to have their voices heard and their rights upheld. They work to ensure that individuals receive the services, support, and opportunities they need to live independently and participate fully in their communities. Advocates provide guidance, representation, and assistance in navigating complex systems, promoting inclusion and equality for those they support.
