Calderdale Independent Advocacy Services
Calderdale's Independent Advocacy Service gives people a voice when they find it difficult to express their views and help them find information, understand and uphold their rights, consider their options, get the support they need, and speak up about the issues that matter to issues that matter to them. Our services are free, independent, and confidential. We are not part of the local authority or the NHS. We offer all statutory advocacy types:
Lead the Way
Lead the Way is an information and advice service for people with a learning disability and their carers. We help people to stay healthy and independent in their communities and to find and ask for the right services to meet their needs.
Calderdale Self Advocacy
Calderdale Self Advocacy Network has self-advocacy groups across Calderdale. Self-advocacy groups meet in Todmorden and Halifax. Self-advocacy is about being involved, speaking up and making a difference as a group.
Carers Count Calderdale
Carers Count Calderdale is a free service for unpaid carers. We provide support, advice and training designed to improve the quality of life and wellbeing of local carers. Our team offers information and advice, drop-in support, groups, events and activities, education, benefits and financial advice, training and so much more.
