Thanks to a grant from North Halifax Partnership – Staying Well Project, Lead the Way will continue to run Dance & Smile for another year for people with learning disabilities and their carers.
People with learning disabilities experience huge health and social inequalities. They have fewer inclusive opportunities to stay physically active and are at a much higher risk of loneliness and social isolation.

We believe everyone should have the chance to join activities that promote health, happiness, and connection, regardless of financial circumstances.
Dance & Smile, our inclusive dance classes at Lead the Way, take place at Forest Cottage in Halifax. The fun, dance-based exercise class is choreographed to popular musical theatre tunes.
Each session lasts one hour:

45 minutes of movement to get your body moving
15 minutes for coffee and a chat so you can meet new people

Come along and take part in whatever way feels comfortable and safe for you, whether that’s dancing, stretching, or simply enjoying the music and company.

We would like to thank The North Halifax Partnership – Staying Well Project for their support, which makes these classes possible.
