About
Self-advocacy gives people a voice and a real say in the way the services and support they want and need are designed and delivered.
Peer support provides opportunities for people with shared or similar experiences to come together and support each other.
LAPSS works in partnership with autistic people, allowing them to shape the way that the service supports them in the community by:
- Facilitating peer and self-advocacy meetings in local areas around Lancashire
- Working together to improve services
- Raising awareness about autism across Lancashire
- Supporting the Lancashire Autism Partnership Board to meet and take forward agreed actions that raise awareness and ensure people’s voices are heard.

Get involved!
Are you autistic and live in Lancashire? If you are 18 or over and interested in learning more about self-advocacy, we’d love for you to get involved.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve never participated in self-advocacy before; your experiences will add value to the work we do. If attending meetings or sharing your thoughts feels daunting, don’t worry—we’re here to help you build the skills and confidence to participate in a way that works for you.
