Independent Health Complaints Advocacy

Cloverleaf Advocacy provides the Independent Health Complaints Advocacy (IHCA) service in East Riding of Yorkshire.

The NHS works hard to deliver life-saving and life-changing care every single day, but sometimes things go wrong, and mistakes can happen, whether in treatment, communication or the delivery of care.

When these situations arise, it can be difficult to navigate the process of raising concerns or seeking resolution. This is where an Independent Health Complaints Advocate becomes invaluable. They are there to support you: ensuring your voice is heard, helping you understand your rights, and guiding you through the process to make sure your concerns are properly addressed.

IHCA is for anyone who wants to make a complaint about NHS or NHS-funded services. This could include care providers, hospitals, doctors, dentists, and pharmacies. If you are not sure if we can help with your complaint, please get in touch. Find out more about the support we offer by downloading our IHCA Leaflet.

Independent Advocacy

We also provide Independent Advocacy to patients in the Humber Centre, which is a medium psychiatric unit.

“The advocate was a regular presence at meetings, spent time with the person and helped share the views they wanted to express. The advocate served a good purpose, helping understand the tricky conversations involving jargon. The advocate was approachable, friendly and relaxed, didn’t push too much or too little, just advocated where it was needed and was very professional.”
