Carers Week 2022
06/06/2022
Carers Week is an annual awareness campaign to celebrate and recognise the vital contribution made by the UK's 6.5 million carers
Run in partnership with a number of key charities, it aims to help raise much-needed awareness of the challenges unpaid carers face and to recognise the often hidden contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK.
As part of #CarersWeek, Cloverleaf is joining the campaign to call on the Government to publish a Recovery and Respite Plan for Unpaid Carers - outlining additional support for carers across a range of areas, including breaks, respite and care services, infection control, identification of carers, financial help, and support to help people juggle work alongside their caring responsibilities.
We are asking carers and their families to write to your MP today and ask that they support the campaign to help ensure all carers get the support they need.
Carers Week has provided a template letter here and, if you are currently caring, we ask that you please add your own personal experience of caring and how it has affected you, before sending it.
There are many other ways you can get involved this #CarersWeek.
You can add your voice and support on the Carers Week website or take part in any number of special events and groups that are taking place across the whole of the UK throughout the week - details of which can be found here.
We are incredibly proud of our Carers Count services in Lancashire and Kirklees which offer support to unpaid carers in their communities. The Kirklees team have a packed week of events planned across the region - to find out more, please take a look at the website.
So during Carers Week, we are coming together to make caring Visible, Valued and Supported.
