Harvey's story
21/06/2023
As part of Learning Disability Week for 2023, we're sharing stories from members of our Calderdale Self Advocacy Network (in their own words) of their experiences living with a learning disability.
Here's what Harvey wanted to share...
"Having a learning disability means it takes me longer to process information and I think about things differently than other people. Not that I think I am different, however, general stuff in life I find more difficult than others might. Most of the time it is fine but sometimes it can be frustrating.
That is why I am happy to be part of groups like the Self-Advocacy Network in Calderdale, as it means I can share my experiences with other people like me. I also like going out to karaoke, and I also have a job which means I have a steady income."
