LAPSS showcase of creative works by autistic people
28/04/2022
To celebrate Autism week, LAPSS (Lancashire Autism Peer and Self-advocacy Service) curated an exhibition showcasing artwork and creativity by autistic people from across the region.
The display travelled around libraries in Lancashire - Burnley, Lancaster, Chorley and Clitheroe. Over 80 people engaged with the exhibit across the four days and the reactions were incredibly positive.
Comments included:
"Wow! What an incredible showcase of talent!"
"What a moving story. It covers so many social issues."
"What amazing work!"
"I'd like to put that in my house."
"Nothing like this has ever happened to me before. Thank you."
A number of the artists came and visited the exhibition and were really pleased with how their work was displayed. It was such a great few days, and we are already talking about what we can do next time to make it even bigger and better.
