Mental Health Awareness Week 2023
Today marks the launch of #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek, the UK’s national week to raise awareness of mental health.
Running from 15-21 May 2023, marking its 23rd year, the week is hosted by the Mental Health Foundation.
This year the theme is Anxiety, which is one of the most common mental health problems we can face.
Anxiety is a normal emotion, and lots of things can lead to feelings of anxiety, including relationships, starting a new job and other big life events. Money worries can also cause us to feel anxious, particularly if we are struggling to meet basic needs like heating our homes.
Focussing on anxiety for this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week will increase people’s knowledge and understanding of anxiety; keep an eye on the Mental Health Foundation's website and social media, where they will be providing information on things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem.
