What I'm reading and listening to this month
11/04/2022
We all know that reading and listening to music is good for the soul!
We’re big lovers of the written word and a good old hum-a-long here at Cloverleaf, so we’ve asked our colleagues to share what’s getting their earbuds buzzing and sparking their word-nerdiness at the minute...
This week, it's Heather's turn...
I am currently reading 'This is going to hurt' by Adam Kay. Adam was a junior doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. It is a collection of memoirs of his time as a junior doctor and the things he saw, dealt with and felt.
I enjoy reading more real-life stuff, and this is perfect for me as it is written in short diary-type snippets, meaning with a busy life and two small children, I can pick it up and put it down whenever I can.
Music-wise I have very mixed tastes. The choice of music in the car is dictated by the kids and what they like on the radio. They have a taste for Imagine Dragons at the moment, and strangely my eldest seems to be into some quite heavy dance music!
If I am alone and can make my own choice of music, I tend to gravitate to either a power ballad where I can sing along loudly in the car or old school 90’s music from when I was in late high school.
