World Autism Week LAPSS exhibition

02/03/2022

To mark this year's World Autism Week, people involved in our LAPSS (Lancashire Autism Peer and Self Advocacy Service) peer group will be curating a travelling exhibition to showcase their artistic and creative talents.

Service Manager, Daniel Hall explains the idea behind the project: "People thought this would be a really positive way to celebrate autism week. There will be a wide range of items being exhibited, from photography and paintings to poems and even scale models. The collection of creative works includes a selection of Alex's photographs from his urban exploring, paintings of religious icons by Nicola as well as some poems she has written. Rachel is showcasing some of her sewn craft projects that she sells to raise money for various social groups and charities and Liam is submitting some exerts from a fictional diary he wrote during lockdown. Everyone has worked hard to pull this event together and we have had great interest from the local libraries that are hosting our displays.  We hope that people come along and show their support."

The travelling exhibition will be taking place during World Autism Week at the following libraries across Lancashire.

📌 Burnley Central Library - Tues 29th March 10am-2pm⠀

📌 Lancaster Central Library - Weds 30th March 10am-2pm⠀

📌 Chorley Central Library - Thurs 31st March 10am-2pm⠀
